The mission from God to get the band back together is back on. Dan Aykroyd, Judy Belushi, and Anne Beatts are teaming up for a new animated series of Blues Brothers, THR reports. The series continues the story of Jake and Elwood Blues, and is being prepped specifically for primetime.

The Blues Brothers started as a Saturday Night Live sketch, before becoming an actual album and a Blues Brothers feature film. While John Belushi's early death seemed it may prevent the continuation of the fictional-turned real band, rotating musicians and actors, including his brother Jim Belushi and John Goodman, have joined Aykroyd for performances, tours, SNL appearances, and even a film sequel.

The Blues Brothers series is being aimed at young adults and doesn't yet have a network.

"It's so great to accelerate Jake and Elwood at digital speed into the 21st Century via the outstanding creative group at Bento Box," Aykroyd said. "The show will be the Blues Brothers living in America and utilizing all new technology to make and promote their own records, seek out and record new artists and avoid law enforcement – and all while fighting for truth, justice and a better breakfast sandwich."
