Pieces Fall Into Place for Tetris Movie

The Tetris movie is falling into place, thanks to a team-up between US and Chinese producers. Bruno Wu and Larry Kasanoff have come together for Threshold Global Studios, and their first project will be an adaptation of Tetris... somehow.

The movie has a healthy $80 million budget, and is being billed as an "epic sci-fi thriller." They'll be shooting the film in China in 2017, with a cast mixed from the West and Chinese actors.

"The team has been working with The Tetris Company for over a year, and with the formation of Threshold Global Studios, financing has been secured, the story has been created, and now Wu and Kasanoff will co-produce," they said in a statement. "Threshold Global will make cross-cultural movies for the global market."

Kasanoff thinks Tetris is "a perfect first project for this strategy," and they look forward to bringing "one of the most beloved, cross-generational gaming brands in the world to the big screen."

As long as someone blows up a whole chunk of enemies by dropping a four-block line down in-between them, just once, it'll be great.
