On Sunday, at MCM Comic Con in London, Kunal Nayyar was asked if he believed there was possibility of a feature film adaptation of the number one comedy on television, The Big Bang Theory.

"It is a very difficult format to do for a movie because we shoot in front of a live studio audience with four cameras," Nayyar explained. "So unless the movie was a two and half hour sitcom version of The Big Bang Theory, I don't think we could ever actually do a movie. We could do it on stage. I tell you what, we'll come here and we'll recreate the movie of The Big Bang Theory for you guys next year."

Over the decades, a surprising number of television shows have made the leap to the big screen. Of course, sometimes it has been successful, sometimes not. More recently, TV shows making the venture have experienced mixed results, such as Jackass: The Movie (2002), Serenity (2005), The Simpsons Movie (2007), Reno 911!: Miami (2007), Sex and the City (2008), Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009), Sex and the City 2 (2010), Veronica Mars (2014), and Entourage (2015).

Hey, they can't all spawn successful film franchises like Star Trek and Naked Gun did.

Leonard and Sheldon are brilliant physicists - geniuses in the laboratory, but socially challenged everywhere else. Enter beautiful, street-smart neighbor, Penny, who aims to teach them a thing or two about life. Despite their on-again, off-again relationship in the past, Leonard believes he's found true love with Penny. Even Sheldon has found a female companion, entering into a "Relationship Agreement" with neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler. In their free time, Leonard and Sheldon continue to enjoy frequent trips to the comic book store and fantasy role-playing games with their ever-expanding universe of friends, including fellow scientists Koothrappali, Wolowitz and Wolowitz's adorable microbiologist wife, Bernadette.

The cast features Johnny Galecki as Leonard, Jim Parsons as Sheldon, Kaley Cuoco as Penny, Simon Helberg as Wolowitz, Kunal Nayyar as Koothrappali, Mayim Bialik as Amy, and Melissa Rauch as Bernadette.

For Season 10, CBS will again move The Big Bang Theory to Mondays at 8:00 PM, giving a solid lead-in to Kevin James's new family comedy, Kevin Can Wait.
