After grossing $4.4 million this weekend, Zootopia tip toed over the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, becoming the second Disney film to do so this year and the eleventh Disney film to hit the milestone. Its domestic total is at $337.22 million and its international take is at $662.8 million, putting its global total at $1,000.020M.

Zootopia is the highest-grossing animated film and second highest-grossing film of 2016. Only Marvel's Captain America: Civil War has earned more at the box office this year, which currently has a global total of $1,131.54 billion.

Zootopia is only the fourth animated film to surpass the billion-dollar milestone, joining an exclusive club that includes Frozen, Minions and Toy Story 3.

From Walt Disney Animation Studios comes a comedy-adventure set in the modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia. Determined to prove herself, Officer Judy Hopps, the first bunny on Zootopia's police force, jumps at the chance to crack her first case – even if it means partnering with scam-artist fox Nick Wilde to solve the mystery. The cast features Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy Hopps, Jason Bateman as Nick Wilde, Idris Elba as Chief Bogo, Jenny Slate as Assistant Mayor Bellwether, Nate Torrence as Benjamin Clawhauser, Bonnie Hunt as Bonnie Hopps, Don Lake as Stu Hopps, Tommy Chong as Yax the Yak, J.K. Simmons as Mayor Leodore Lionheart, and Alan Tudyk as Weaselton.

The film was co-directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore and written by Phil Johnston.
