Despite AMC's best efforts to keep their cliffhanger surprise in tact in the long offseason between seasons six and seven, rumors are beginning to swirl about who it was that Negan killed in the closing moments of Last Day on Earth.
While these are still rumors and not actual confirmations, continue reading and potentially spoiling Lucille's victim at your own risk. You've been warned!
According to reports from Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Negan's kill will replicate the moments from The Walking Dead's 100th issue. The rumors claim that Glenn is indeed Negan's victim to conclude the villain's introduction.
The basis for the rumors, which the site claims are "for sure," are claims that the series currently shooting its second and third episodes of season seven and Glenn actor Steven Yeun is "no where in sight." Yeun has been active on Twitter, retweeting The Walking Dead tweets but a recent video on his Facebook page suggests he is in South Korea filming Okja. That said, other cast members have also been traveling a bit according to their social media channels.
Furthermore, the report claims that Abraham, Daryl, and Eugene actors Michael Cudlitz, Norman Reedus, and Josh McDermitt have been on set filming.

Take this "news" with a grain of salt. Showrunner Scott Gimple is prepared to go extreme lengths to protect the big reveal. A few weeks ago, though, Yeun was spotted near the Georgia set with co-star Norman Reedus helping out some civilians involved in a car accident, so he was on set for at least a few days (or maybe weeks) after the opening episode was shot.
The Walking Dead returns for its seventh season in October. The first trailer for the new season will be unveiled at San Diego Comic Con next month.
