Fan films are starting to at times be indistinguishable from feature films. Case in point, Ember Lab's Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask.

The animation studio has partnered up with musician Theophany for a Majora's Mask animated fan film, but if you watch this small teaser they released (via The Mary Sue) you couldn't be faulted for mistaking it for an official Nintendo project.

The animation is stunning, and the color work is bright and vibrant, just like the game its based on. Ember lab's work can be seen in their ad campaign for Hisense, where they debuted two adorable characters Harley and Beta. While it didn't convince me to buy a Hisense product, it certainly convinced me of Ember's animation skills. They're aiming to have the Majora's Mask short film done later this year.

If you're looking for more great Zelda inspired work, Theophany is releasing Disc 2 of a Majora's Mask tribute album sometime soon, but Disc 1 is already up for download here.

The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask was released for the Nintendo 64 back in 2000, and remains to this day one of the favorites in the franchise, alongside The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
