The first installment of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them won't even hit theaters until November, but it looks like JK Rowling has already finished the script for the film's sequel. And, most excitingly, director David Yates has teased that its story will take the franchise in a totally new direction.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Yates spoke about the franchise's sequel and said, "We've seen the script for Part 2, for the second movie, which takes the story in a whole new direction – as you should, you don't want to repeat yourself. The second movie introduces new characters as she builds this part of the Harry Potter universe further. It's a very interesting development from where we start out. The work is pouring out of her."

Yate was also asked whether the sequel would also be set in America like the first film, but the director remained mum on the subject. So far, fans aren't quite sure what to make of his silence.

Obviously, Rowling has been busy over the past few years as she's been writing furiously to finalize Harry Potter's stage debut with Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. And, of course, 2013 saw Warner Bros. announcing that Rowling would be stepping into the screenwriting world as they broke new on the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them trilogy.

Last year, Warner Bros. teased fans with a description of the first film's plot as they released a short story description. Set in 1920s America, the franchise will center on Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) who visits the country and accidentally releases a number of dangerous and magical creatures. Partnering with new friends Tina Goldstein (Katherine Waterson) and Jacob Kowalski (Dan Folger), Scamander must recollect the animals whilst dealing with government oversights which threatens to destroy the magical world.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will apparate into theaters on November 18th 2016.
