Oh, boy. I cannot begin to tell you the number of times I've had to explain to someone just what Pokemon is over the past month. Ever since Pokemon GO rolled out to rave reviews, everyone from parents to my mailman has questioned me about the viral app. Mostly, people pretty much remember the 90s crazy that was 'Pokemon Fever,' and now the franchise is revisiting its once legendary popularity following Pokemon GO's release. Yet, hilariously enough, it seems like one of the app's biggest beneficiaries might need an explanation on how to properly pronounce the app's name.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, was recently accused of mispronouncing 'Pokemon' during a recent call, and The Verge has since immortalized the slip-up on Soundcloud. Listening to Cook speak, you can clearly tell that the executive loves the app - or, at the very least, is loving how much cash its raking in. However, Cook does flub a little when he pronounces 'Pokemon' as 'Po-Key-Man.'

Cringe.

But, really, can we blame Cook? After all, the CEO has a lot on his mind considering his position at Apple, and I highly doubt Pokemon ranks somewhere on his to-do list. Or, well, maybe it does now that Pokemon has made a comeback. At the very least, though, if you're unfamiliar with 'Pokemon,' the name could very easily become 'Pokeman." Honestly, he's only off by a single syllable, guys.

Also, it's totally possible that the stumble was a one time ordeal - and if not - I've no doubt Cook will quickly correct his pronunciation. After all, with Pokemon GO projected to earn Apple several billion dollars over the next few years, it'd be in Cook's best interest to nail down his vowels sounds.
