What Are The Strongest Moves In Pokemon GO?

When it comes to Pokemon GO, trainers looking to overtake their next gym should discover a few new surprises waiting for them. Just yesterday, Pokemon GO overhauled it battling features to provide a more balanced and strategic system for gamers. As such, many players are now unsure of which attacks will best help them take control of their local gyms. So, naturally, the guys over at The Silph Road have created a nifty infographic that ranks the strongest moves in Pokemon GO post-update.

Following Pokemon GO's update, gone are the days when trainers could essentially button-mash their way through gym battles. The update has nerfed many of the game's quick moves such as Pound in order to elevate charge moves like Body Slam and Hydro Pump. In fact, all charge moves easily take out much more damage in battle than quick moves ever could hope.

Right now, the strongest move available in Pokemon GO is Cross Chop, a fighting-type move that'll dish 30 DPS (Damage Points per Second). Following closely behind is Stone Edge and Blizzard, a rock- and ice-type charge move. Respectively, the pair will knock out 25.81 and 25.64 DPS.

As for quick moves, even the strongest attack Pound barely holds up to the all-mighty charge moves. Sitting at just 12.96 DPS, Pound pales in the face of moves like Solar Beam and Dragon Claw as it provides significantly less damage.

Of course, charge moves do come with a downside. It takes more power and time to prep such an attack when compared to quick moves, so the new battle system forces trainers to closely consider their pokemon's type before charging into battle. If you want a shot of making your very important charge attack a critical hit, then you better know whether your water-type has a type advantage over a normal-type or not. That simple consideration could make or break you bid to become a pokemon master.
