Officially, Pokemon GO was released only a month ago, but it feels as if the game has been out for ages. The app's popularity has taken the world by storm, surprising both fans and industry insiders with its unprecedented success. Because, believe or not, Pokemon GO has earned over $200 million in its first month.

According to SensorTower, Pokemon GO is nearing a staggering $220 million worldwide net revenue. The site then went on to compare the game's insane growth to two other apps which people are likely familiar with: Candy Crush Soda Saga & Clash Royale.

Supercell's Clash Royale still remains as one of the most popular mobile apps in history, but even it couldn't withstand the mighty power of Pokemon GO. Niantic's app has since overtaken Clash Royale to become the fastest mobile game to reach 10 million worldwide downloads. And, what's more, Sensortower's data shows Pokemon GO initially experienced a similar profit trajectory to Clash Royale until a certain country came into the picture. Once Pokemon GO became available in Japan, the data shows a sudden surge in revenue that helped the app pull ahead of Clash Royale's $125 million earning.

As for King's Candy Crush Soda Saga, the iconic game didn't stand a chance. Pokemon GO made more than 7x what Candy Crush Soda Saga did in its first month with King's app only making a 'lowly' $25 million.

With its variety of in-game purchases, Niantic has successfully been able to profit from what's currently the most popular free app of all-time. However, some critics have scoffed at Ninatic's decision to profit off Pokemon GO as they claim it encourages players to trespass on people's private property.

But, when it comes down to it, Pokemon GO's players haven't been deterred by any of its naysayers. The average trainer still spends around 30 minutes playing per day, and with Niantic promising new features and pokemon, it looks as if Pokemon GO will only continue to grow.
