Assassin's Creed will do its best to implement the most recognizable parts of the game into something that will also draw in audiences unfamiliar with the property, and one of the ways they're doing that is by bringing in the popular leap of faith that has been performed so many times in game's past.

"In the movie, Micahel Fassbender's character is trapped and he has to jump a leap of faith, jumping 125 feet." described Producer Patrick Crawley. "Normally it would be a digital character that would jump off, but Damien's the best so we're going to do it for real."

Producer Frank Marshall added "Justin wants it to be as real as possible. We are going to the real world. We're not relying on visual effects." That meant asking Damien Walters, Micahel Fassbender's stunt double, to perform the jump himself, which wasn't exactly an easy undertaking.

To put this into perspective, Damien is 6 foot tall. The first jump, which is just to get some of the timing down, is 70 feet high in the air. As he explains it, the footprint of the bag (that will catch him) is only 10 meters by 10 meters, so at 70 feet high in the air it looks "about the size of a full-on piece of paper." He'll be dropping at 9.8 meters per second, and will hit the bag at 45.7 MPH.

It would be one thing if that was it, but that is only the first jump. The second jump raises the stakes even higher, taking him to 90 feet high. At this height, the bag will seem even smaller, and he'll hit it at 51.8 MPH. After the second jump, he experiences a small amount of whiplash, but his task wasn't over just yet.

The third jump takes him to a startling 125 feet, where after jumping he will hit the bag at 61.1 MPH. It takes a skilled professional to do something like this, and it happens to be one of the highest free falls performed by a stuntman in almost 35 years, so you know, no pressure.

It's sure to impress and amaze fans in the full film - just as it does in the behind-the-scenes video.

Assassin's Creed stalks into theaters on December 21st.
