Broadway has seen a myriad of intriguing properties take the stage, some that you would never expect to make the leap. If current reports pan out, a new Warner Bros. production would certainly fit that bill.

According to the New York Post, the cult classic Beetlejuice is being developed for the Broadway stage and is set for a debut during the 2018-2019 season. The studio is currently working with Alex Timbers, who was previously scheduled to helm Disney's Frozen stage adaptation until recently.

Timbers was let go from the project mostly due to its sheer size and scale, something that sources say overwhelmed the director. His previous projects were more intimate and smaller in production, something that Frozen was definitely shaping up not to be. When you are blowing out a wall in a theater so you can make room for your show, your production is anything but small.

Beetlejuice would seemingly be right up Timber's alley, but first, he will need to complete his current St. Joan project, which is currently workshopping at the Public Theater.

Tim Burton's Beetlejuice has maintained a cult following ever since it debuted in 1988, and Michael Keaton's performance as Beetlejuice still holds up today. The film is about a dead couple who are upset that someone is moving into their beautifully decorated house, the enlist the services of Beetlejuice to help get rid of them. The film starred Alec Baldwin (Adam Maitland), Geena Davis (Barbara Maitland), and Catherine O'Hara (Delia Deetz).
