Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 Featurette Reveals Easter Eggs

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, released today on Blu-Ray and DVD with plenty of extra features for fans of the heroes in a half-shell.

Did you catch all the Easter eggs and nostalgia nods in the movie? Turns out there were a lot we may have missed, even down to set pieces having a dome-like shape to represent a shell and the brand name on Casey Jones' (Stephen Amell) iconic hockey stick.

Of course we caught the "Foot Stinks" sticker in the Turtle Van referring to Shredder's infamous Foot Clan, but totally didn't notice the teeny tiny turtles decorating Leonardo's swords.

The brand name on vigilante Casey Jones' hockey stick is Eastman, a solid nod to Kevin Eastman, the co-creator of the original TMNT comic books back in 1984 that gave rise to a 32-year franchise and turned the Turtles into pop culture icons.

The featurette also explains that the easiest way to sneak Easter eggs into a movie is through labels and names:

"Sometimes it's as simple as that...when you're trying to name something you go back and you dig into the material and use that, and if people are really savvy they'll realize where it came from."
