Way back in the year 2001, who knew that a little movie about street racing, based on the article "Racer X" by writer Kenneth Li would launch one of the most successful and long-running film franchises in cinematic history?

The Fast and The Furious franchise has already brought us a total of seven action-packed, vroom-vroom films, even through the unfortunate death of Paul Walker, who played main character Brian. Because Brian and Mia (Jordana Brewster) have two children in the movies, we have been waiting to see how this situation will play out in Fast 8 with rumors of his return.

Fast 8 just wrapped filming in mid-August with promise of a trailer arriving sometime in December. Now, Vin Diesel (who loves to stay close to his fandom) posted a photo on VinBook revealing the trailer premiere date.

Who knows what the team will be getting into next? Jumping out of an aircraft carrier inside of a car rigged with parachutes and GPS locaters was the craziest thing we've seen, but we all know that even more insane action sequences are coming our way.

Hopefully the trailer will give us a glimpse of Charlize Theron as the big bad, a shot of Paul Walker to confirm if his brothers will be bringing him back or not, and of course - the jet-powered cars.

Ride or die, baby.

The cast for Fast 8 is stacked as usual with the addition of Scott Eastwood, Oscar-winner Helen Mirren, and Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones) as the "muscle" for Charlize Theron.

The rest of the cast is confirmed to include franchise regulars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Elsa Pataky, Nathalie Emmanuel and Lucas Black reprising their roles as "street racers-turned-international criminals-turned-super-secret agents." Jason Statham, Dwayne Johnson and Kurt Russell are confirmed to return as well.

Fast 8, directed by F. Gary Gray zooms into theatres on April 14 2017, followed by a ninth film to be released April 19, 2019 and a tenth film planned for April 2, 2021.
