No one says 'no' to Gaston - especially if you're Luke Evans. The actor agreed to play the Disney villain in the live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast, a decision which made many fans excited. However, there were those who worried that the pretentious character might not translate well in the real-life. But, according to Evans, fans should be looking forward to the character's appearance.

Speaking with CinemaBlend, Evans told the site that Gaston will be just as theatrical in the live-action adaptation as he is in the animated classic. "There's definitely a theatricality that I can bring to this role that I don't usually get to do," he said.

"Here's a slight heightened reality to the film. It's Disney and we're re-creating a much loved Disney story. He's larger than life in every respect. No, it's definitely really fun to play, and I did get to do more theatricality."

However, the actor did say the character would go through a stark transformation in the film. As Disney lovers know, Gaston may appear to be all bulk with no brain, but the villain does wise up when he persuades an entire village to confront Beast. Evans talked about the character's monstrous actions and said he had fun playing Gaston because of the characters arc.

He said, "It was really fun to play this character, because it's such a great arc, such a great like arc. He starts as a kind of lovable rogue - says all these self-absorbed egocentric phrases and has his crazy sidekick. And then once he starts to realize he's not going to get his own way, the facade starts to crack, and there's a monster appears, and he ends up being quite the villain."

This isn't the first teaser fans have been given about Gaston. Not long ago, co-producer Jack Morrisey took to Facebook and shared a still photo of the character rehearsing for the film. Practicing his dance for "Gaston," the actor can be seen dancing with an unknown woman.
