The Power Rangers — (from right to left) Jason, Billy, Zack, Kimberly and Trini — look awestruck in the latest still from the upcoming film.
The high schoolers-turned-superheroes are gazing upon a large, alien-looking artifact, which may be the entrance to the Command Center (a.k.a. the Power Rangers' headquarters). If it is, we can assume that this is the moment in which they will meet Zordon, their mentor, and Alpha 5, their robotic assistant, for the first time.
The image and the posters that were released earlier today, too, are part of Lionsgate's marketing strategy to add more attention to tomorrow's New York Comic Con panel that will feature the debut of the first official footage from the upcoming Power Rangers movie.

Saban's Power Rangers follows five ordinary high school kids who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover that they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so they will have to overcome their real-life issues and band together as the Power Rangers before it is too late.
Saban's Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott/the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston/the Blue Ranger, Becky G as Trini Kwan/the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor/the Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart/the Pink Ranger, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bill Hader as Alpha 5, and Bryan Cranston as Zordon.
The film is being directed by Project Almanac-helmer Dean Israelite and was written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.
Power Rangers is scheduled for release on January 13, 2017.
