Next January, a long-running film franchise is coming to an end. The Resident Evil series will wrap with its sixth film, and the team behind the movie gave fans an update on it at New York Comic Con this weekend. The cast and crew of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter gathered to gift fans with the film's official trailer, and ComicBook.com got to chat with several of those stars.

Ali Larter, who plays Claire Redfield, spoke with us about the thrilling finale and said fans will have all their questions answered in The Final Chapter.

"I think it wraps up a lot of the storylines," she said. "I think it gives the answers that the real fans are dying to know. Like, what is the story of Alice? How did she come to be? I think that there's something to bringing a little bit of humanity to this film that made me excited to reprise the role of Claire Redfield."

When the actress was asked about the franchise's longevity, Larter said she was amazed at how the fans have supported the franchise. Having starred in three of the six films, Later said she was "so excited to get to come back."

"The support and love that I've gotten with Claire has been so overwhelming and wonderful over the years," she gushed. "It's super exciting to come back and do it again."

Sadly, this will be the last time Larter gets such a call. ComicBook.com had a chance to speak with director Paul W.S. Anderson who said The Final Chapter would truly end the film series. "It's the final chapter," Anderson said. "There is a conclusion, absolutely."

Earlier this year, Larter spoke about Claire Redfield and said she was "grateful" to have been invited into the Resident Evil family.

"I'm so grateful to them [Milla Jovovich and Paul Anderson], that they chose me to be a part of it halfway through, and they've kept me along for the ride," she said. "I love that it's not seven men and one woman. I mean, these are two women, and they're not competing with each other. You know, there are such easy clichés these two could fall into, but this is definitely a female power movie."
