It seems directors are having trouble keeping pace with DC Films' The Flash. The anticipated blockbuster will see Ezra Miller take on the speedster, but so far, there's no one slated to guide the hero onto the big screen. Most recently, Rick Famuyiwa exited the director's seat after creative differences pulled him away from the project. His absence stunned both fans and critics who had thought The Flash was finally on track, but there might be another director up for the challenge.

According to Kevin Smith, the filmmaker would be more than happy to tackle The Flash.

The geek icon recently went live on Facebook to talk about his work on The CW's adaptation of The Flash. It was there that Smith addressed the film's rotating directors and offered up his services. "Of course," the actor answered when asked by a fan if he'd direct The Flash.

"If somebody was like 'Do you want to do The Flash movie?' then this would honestly be my first response," he said. "I'd say absolutely, but you should try Tim Miller first. Or I'd say the Wachowskis. I'd list a bunch of other people who I would think would make a brilliant Flash movie."

Smith went on and said Miller was a "visual genius" and that DC Entertainment would be smart to steal Miller away from Marvel. After all, he did direct Deadpool, and the superhero flick earned rave reviews from both fans and critics.

"It'd be a match made in heaven," Smith stressed. Still, the director said he would be more than happy to direct The Flash should Miller be averse.

The director said, "If Tim Miller was like, 'Man, I hate the Flash," then I'd be like 'F**k Tim Miller, I'll do it.'"

Of course, this isn't the first time Smith has thrown in his support for Miller in regards to The Flash. The filmmaker publicly championed the other man in a recent episode of Fatman on Batman, and he went so far as to say Miller should call up Warner Bros. directly.

For now, Smith says he is content doing his comic book work with The CW. The director worked on this season of The Flash and Supergirl. His episode for The Flash will air tonight, and "Killer Frost" promises to bring back a familiar foe to fans in a rather unexpected way.
