Believe it or not, there are people out there who have yet to see or read anything about Harry Potter. The boy wizard might have taken over the world once JK Rowling brought him to life, but that doesn't mean everybody fawned over the character. Plenty of people found themselves weighed down by the lengthy novels and watching all eight Harry Potter films can take about 20 hours. For busy moviegoers, the commitment was tough - so one fan has done what they can do help.

Over on Vimeo, Tim Stiefler has cut together all eight Harry Potter films and turned them into a single movie. The movie sits at under 1 hour and 20 minutes, so it goes without saying that plenty of Harry Potter scenes were cut from this remake.

This fan-video does away with fluffy magic scenes and hones in on the heart of Harry Potter: the conflict between the boy and Lord Voldemort. As such, this supercut is a bit grittier from the get-go, but the choice was necessary. Sure, fans might like to watch pre-teen Hermione and Ron shuffle around one another, but things must get cut for the sake of narrativity.

Stiefler's video is a great way for new fans to get a taste of the Harry Potter series. And, when it comes to Potterheads, the supercut gives them a great refresher on the franchise.

In several years, a video such as this one might be needed for the Fantastic Beasts spin-off. The new series debuted its first installment earlier this month to rave reviews and another four films are still to come. When Warner Brothers wraps up its work on Fantastic Beasts, fans might be begging for Stiefler to make them a beginner's guide to the series as well.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is an all-new adventure returning us to the wizarding world created by J.K. Rowling. Academy Award winner Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) stars in the central role of wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander, under the direction of David Yates, who helmed the last four Harry Potter blockbusters. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in 1926 as Newt Scamander has just completed a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. Arriving in New York for a brief stopover, he might have come and gone without incident…were it not for a No-Maj (American for Muggle) named Jacob, a misplaced magical case, and the escape of some of Newt's fantastic beasts, which could spell trouble for both the wizarding and No-Maj worlds.
