Don't panic! If you are weary of the coming year, then there is no need to be afraid. For you anime fans, there has been no better time to celebrate all things otaku than now. In the coming year, a slew of beloved franchises are set to comeback like Attack on Titan and One-Punch Man. Fullmetal Alchemist will even make its long-awaited return when its live-action movie debuts, but Warner Bros. could not let the holiday season go by without giving fans a gift.

UP NEXT: Fullmetal Alchemist Live-Action Movie Trailer Released

And, of course, it was a gift worth waiting for. Not long ago, the official website for the Fullmetal Alchemist film gave fans two new photos from the movie - and we get a better look at Alphonse Elric then ever before.

The dark image gives fans a look at a very familiar scene. Edward Elric can be seen standing on a train platform alongside his younger brother. The elder is dressed in his iconic red coat and is carrying a suitcase in his hand. To his left, Alphonse Elric is keeping watch thanks to his towering height. The younger brother's disembodied suit of armor looks insanely similar to that from the anime, and fans are eager to see Alphonse in-action.

As for the photo's setting, Fullmetal Alchemist seems to have opted for a dark tone, and fans are loving it. The picture depicts a steampunk-esque locomotive and filters itself with sepia tones, so fans of the anime can expect the film to mirror its source's anachronistic aesthetic.

The second image is one sourced from the first teaser trailer of Fullmetal Alchemist that debuted in 2016. The image shows Edward facing off with a beast created from a transmutation circle, and it looks none too friendly.

The website's update also gave fans something to look forward to in regards to Fullmetal Alchemist. Next fall, Warner Bros. will be hosting its first large-scale exhibition for the franchise that will no doubt show off props and costumes from the live-action film.

If you are not familiar with Fullmetal Alchemist, then you have plenty of time to watch the anime before its live-action film arrives. The series follows brothers Edward and Alphonse after their mother tragically passes. They attempt to use alchemy to resurrect her, but the attempt takes Edward's arm and leg - and it takes Alphonse's entire body. Determined to get their bodies restored, Edward and Alphonse try to become State Alchemists so they can find the location of a powerful item known as the Philosopher's Stone. But their journey ultimately leads them into a seedy world of government corruption and mass genocide.

Fullmetal Alchemist will debut in Japan in Winter 2017.
