Arrow season 5 has gained a lot of fan respect for steering the show back to where many think it should be: a darker and grittier tale of street-level vigilante superhero, that's more Dark Knight than it is The Flash. One of season 5's more exciting elements has been the mystery of Prometheus, another dark reflection of the Green Arrow persona, who seems to be ruthlessly maneuvering chees pieces (read: corpses) into a final end game against both Oliver Queen and the Green Arrow.
All season long, fans have been buzzing about and discussing the mystery of who is under Prometheus' mask, and as Arrow approaches its midseason 5 premiere, showrunner Wendy Mericle is teasing more of how the Prometheus mystery will play out - and who will help solve it.
Speaking with TV Line, Mericle called the Prometheus mystery "a gift that keeps on giving for the rest of the season," adding that it will be Ra's al Ghul's daughter, Talia al Ghul, who plays a "crucial part" in helping Oliver solve the Prometheus mystery.
In the DC TV continuity, we've spent more time with Nyssa al Ghul, Ra's younger daughter and Talia's half-sister. Stargate SG-1 actress Lexa Doig was recently cast to play the DC TV version of Talia on Arrow - but the show hasn't revealed anything that confirms how she'll factor into the Prometheus mystery.
Purely speculating, Talia would be a reasonable explanation for how Prometheus gained such formidable combat skills. Given how involved Ra's and Nyssa were when Arrow started - and Talia's absence - it's possible the other "Daughter of the Demon" has a grudge and a plot to unleash, in the form of Prometheus. Then again, maybe she simply created a monster she couldn't control - or maybe she's not involved in any nefarious way. Maybe she's the ally Oliver and Co. need.
Though that wouldn't be much like the Talia fans know and love...
