WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD FOR THE SEASON SEVEN FINALE OF THE WALKING DEAD!
No matter how exciting The Walking Dead finale became last night, there was no escaping the sadness of losing a loved one. In order to give Rick a fighting against the Saviors, Sasha sacrificed herself.
Negan had planned to take her to Alexandria in a coffin - alive - and present her to Rick and the others. However, Sasha took the poison pill that Eugene had made, causing a wrench in Negan's plans.
Before the suicide, she went along with the coffin plan. As she entered the case, before the long trip, Eugene gave her an iPod loaded with music. As shots of Sasha in the coffin came throughout the episode, it was evident that one song was influencing her decision to take her own life.
The song was 'We'll All Be Free' by Donny Hathaway. The name is symbolic in and of itself, and the flashbacks of Abraham only added to the convincing notion that Sasha was ready to free herself, as well as her friends.

The connection goes even deeper than that, as Sasha's choice to take the pill was reflective of the singer himself. At the age of 33, Donny Hathaway took his own life.
This song was a perfect fit for the situation, and it was a great way for fans to say goodbye to the loving soul of Sasha.
