It was bound to happen at some point. A rough cut version of X-Men Origins: Wolverine has made it onto the Internet. Word about the illegal downloading of the Wolverine movie was posted over several social networking sites, including Twitter, the night of March 31st. According to Comic Book Resources, the movie was still available on several websites devoted to file-sharing the following day. The posted version is a rough cut DVD quality file that is missing its special effects sequences. It is speculated that other scenes important to the film's climax are also absent from the leaked version. As a result of the leak, some reviews of the film have also starting showing up online. Now 20th Century Fox has the daunting task of trying to get the illegal files removed from the multitude of websites said to host the film. Some industry experts fear that the leaked cut could hurt ticket sales of the theatrical version of the Wolverine movie, with some fans deciding to watch the illegal version at home for free. If anything, the leaked version should whet some fans' appetites, since the film is lacking the SFX scenes. No word as to who or what film department is responsible for the leaked version of the 20th Century Fox picture. An announcement into the security breach by 20th Century Fox is expected, pending an investigation. X-Men Origins: Wolverine hits theatres May 1st.
