Gary Ross, who directed 'Seabiscuit', will rewrite the script for 'Spider-Man 4', according to Variety. The deal reunites Ross with star Tobey Maguire, who worked together on both 'Seabiscuit' and 'Pleasantville.' A couple of interesting points on this news. First, it appears Ross is rewriting the script so he can direct a Lance Armstrong movie. Not exactly the inspiration the fourth installment of the Spider-Man franchise needs. Secondly, this script is on it's THIRD screenwriter. The original was written by James Vanderbilt. It was then rewritten by David Lindsay-Abaire. Multiple writers doing rewrites usually equates to crap. Consider our expectations lowered.
