Morgan Freeman In Talks For 'Red' Comic Book Adaptation
By Jack Greer
We've long thought that Warren Ellis's three issue comic 'Red' would make a fantastic movie. Even though Bruce Willis is attached, movement has been slow. However, pre-production could pick up with the addition of another high-powered star.
FirstShowing.net is reporting that Morgan Freeman is in talks to play a role in the film adaptation, written by brothers Erich and Jon Hoeber of 'Whiteout' fame. Still no director, buy maybe now that two A-list stars are coming on board, things will get rolling.
'Red' involves a retired special-ops agent who, while living the quiet life, escapes an assassination attempt at his house. Realizing his identity has been compromised, the agent re-assembles his old team to take out the people coming after him.
