Taylor Lautner “Stretches” Into Heroic Territory

After making a name for himself in the latest Twilight film New Moon, teen star Taylor Lautner will soon take another leap into the world of fantasy and fiction.  It’s been announced that Lautner will play the title role in the 2012 release Stretch Armstrong.  Based on the rubbery hero with arms and legs that can stretch and strain with ease, the film will be giving Lautner a major headlining role and Donna Langley, Universal Pictures co-chairman, couldn’t be happier with the selection.

“In the past two years, Taylor has emerged as a real star at the global box office. He brings the perfect balance of energy and athleticism to the role of an unlikely super hero with a fantastic super power.  We couldn’t be more pleased that he has agreed to be our Stretch,” she said in a statement.  The Hasbro related property comes on the heels of another adaptation, Hasbro’s Battleship gets the big screen treatment in 2012 as well!
