Free Comic Book Day Creator Owned Comics From Image

It's that time of year. Free Comic Book Day is this Saturday, May 7, 2011. Comic book stores across America will be giving away free comic books in an effort to attract new readers. Image Comics has announced a couple of creator-owned comics from them that will be available at comic book shops on Free Comic Book Day. Also, several Image creators will be appearing at various comic book shops across the U.S. One of the free Image comic books is called Super Dinosaur Origin Special. The comic is the first new series published under Robert Kirkman's Skybound imprint. Super Dinosaur Origin Special is an all ages story about a young boy genius and his best friend, a genetically-modified Tyrannosaurus Rex. Super Dinosaur Origin Special is written by Robert Kirkman with artwork by Jason Howard. The other free Image comic book is called Darkness II: Confession. The comic is an all ages title and is a prequel to the upcoming 2K game, Darkness II, which is based on Top Cow Productions' long-running THE DARKNESS series. Darkness II: Confession offers a glimpse into the tortured life of Jackie, the Darkness bearer. The comic features art by both Michael Broussard and Romano Molenaar.
