Blazing the trail (pun intended) for 2012 Comic Book movies, 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance hits theaters February 17. As the marketing campaign heats up for the film, a new TV spot was released. Written by about 8,000 people (never a good sign) and co-directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor ('Crank'), the 2nd Ghost Rider film takes place in Europe. Nic Cage returns as Johnny Blaze, stuntrider/demon, who battles the Devil and another heavy named Blackout. The spot itself looks somewhat exciting, until we get the point where Cage actually opens his mouth. (BTW, when did Nic Cage become Kevin Costner--where every character he plays is the same one over and over?) Okay, I'll try to be nice. Seeing that I hated the first Ghost Rider more than any comic book movie ever made (outside of 'Batman & Robin', I'm on record as saying there shouldn't have been a sequel. Or a 'reimagining'--whatever you want to call it. That being said, it can't be any WORSE than the first film, right? So try not to suck, 'Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.' The comic book movie industry still hasn't gotten over 'Jonah Hex.'
