If there is one thing we should take from DC Entertainment and LEGO's continual relationship, it's that the partnership truly wants to cultivate a new audience for comic books.  Another example of that came with an announcement today. The LEGO Hero Factory app, created by DC and sponsored by LEGO, added a variety of all-new, free digital comics for kids.  The free app is available in the App store.  Many of the comics are based on the popular LEGO Hero factory, but DC has included other digital comics for kids of all ages such as The Batman Adventures, Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th Grade, Young Justice, Tiny Titans, Teen Titans and Superman Adventures. "LEGO Hero Factory is all about building heroes so it's the perfect match for an app that also features DC Comics Super Heroes," stated Hank Kanalz, senior vice president of digital for DC Entertainment.  "We've had a great, longstanding relationship with LEGO Systems and we're really excited to bring these comics to kids through the LEGO Hero Factory app." I love the app, because kids of all ages can find something to read.  And seeing that the younger generation will most likely read comics on a tablet or in digital form, this is a great first step for many of them.
