Toy companies are known for releasing details that sometimes contains spoilers for upcoming movies. While there are only mild spoilers here, Mattel has filed their paperwork with the Federal Communications Commission for three of the vehicles that they are making for The Dark Knight Rises.
The three vehicle designs are called Tumbler, Bat-Pod, and The Bat. The Tumbler is an armored tank-like Batmobile. The Bat-Pod is a motorcycle. The Bat is a flying vehicle. The three vehicles are all remote controlled, and they go both in forward and reverse left. The vehicles require 2 AAA batteries, while the transmitter requires 2 AA batteries.
In their FCC filing, Mattel revealed both diagrams of the three vehicles, as well as test shots of a prototype of the Tumbler. Mattel will be releasing the vehicles under their Hot Wheels RC line of product.
The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, and Anne Hathaway as Catwoman. The Dark Knight Rises is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 20, 2012.
