Avengers Assemble is a new Avengers series in the works from Marvel Comics that will feature the same Avengers lineup as in the movie. Instead of being based directly on the movie, the series will actually take place in regular Marvel Comics continuity.
Today, Marvel Comics unveiled a variant cover for the Avengers Assemble #1 by arist Marc Silvestri. Let’s just say that Sivestri’s variant cover could easily be a poster for the Avengers movie. It’s that good.
Avengers Assemble stars Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, the Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye as they take on the all-new Zodiac. Avengers Assemble #1 is written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by Mark Bagley. Avengers Assemble #1 is scheduled to arrive in comic book stores on March 14, 2012.
