Ahead of tonight's World Premiere of "The Hunger Games," some new footage has hit the internet.  And like much of what we've seen the past couple of weeks, it surrounds the character Peeta (Josh Hutcherson). It's becoming apparent that the Peeta/Katniss angle is going to be played up much more than it was in the books.  Here's the clip, courtesy of MTV:

Fans of the book will quickly realize the scene. It's before the start of the Hunger Games, and television host Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci) is interviewing/introducing the Tributes to the world. Peeta reveals that his longtime love is none other than Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence), a revelation that changes everything for both the two Tributes and for the television audience. There has been a lot of press for Josh Hutcherson the past couple of weeks, which might mean that the Katniss/Peeta romance could be front and center for the film. While the pair's relationship was a major storyline in the book, the true storyline was about Katniss and how she saw the world and reacted to it. However, the book was from Katniss's point of view, and it revealed much about her inner thoughts--something that can't be shown well on the silver screen. So it's reasonable that Director Gary Ross might make the romance more of a focal point. So far, Lionsgate has run one heck of a marketing campaign for this film. But at this point, they might be better served by limiting the amount of new clips between now and the film's opening. No sense ticking off the fanbase. "The Hunger Games" opens March 23rd.
