Last night, numerous entertainment sites started running three new, short clips that have appeared online from Sony's upcoming release The Amazing Spider-Man. You can check them out below, conveniently merged into a single, two-minute YouTube video. The tone is all over the map in these three clips, from a sleeping Peter awoken on the subway and inadvertently using his powers when startled, to Spider-Man berating a bad guy, to facing his most dangerous nemesis: the kitchen sink. The middle clip, pieces of which have been seen elsewhere, is particularly interesting in that it's illustrative of comments that actor Andrew Garfield has made about the Spider-Man mask serving the same purpose as Internet anonymity--it lets him act like a troll, knowing that nobody knows who he is and will come looking to bring him consequences. The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters on July 3.
