Guardians Of The Galaxy Movie

While it's been previously reported that Guardians Of The Galaxy was a property that Marvel Studios was interested in developing, many had been doubting the chances of the movie actually happening. After all, the Guardians Of The Galaxy aren't one of Marvel's best known creations among the general public, and it would appear on the surface to be an idea that would be expensive to bring to the big screen. However, with Marvel Studios on the verge of delivering what looks to be their biggest smash to date with The Avengers, it will likely give them some leeway to try some different things. After the flop of John Carter, a successful Avengers could make Marvel Studios the new golden child of Disney. In a press junket interview with CraveOnline, Marvel Sudios' President of Production Kevin Feige revealed some news about The Guardians Of The Galaxy. Apparently, the Guardians Of The Galaxy movie will feature the modern version of the team, which includes Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon. CraveOnline quotes Feige as saying, "We are very excited about bringing things like that, maybe things exactly like that, to the screen. [...] When you tell people, you know what would be really cool? This movie, and there's a raccoon, and there's a tree... And they go, 'What?' And people like you know what it is, and get excited. And the majority of people go, 'Did you say a raccoon and a tree?' 'Oh yeah, they're going to steal the whole movie. They're hilarious.' 'Okay, I'll believe it when I see it.' I like that." Feige wouldn't reveal a start date for The Guardians Of The Galaxy, but he did include in as one of the non-sequel priorities along with Ant-Man, Dr. Strange, and The Inhumans. Another thing that wasn't addressed was whether The Guardians Of The Galaxy would be a live action movie or an animated movie. While it was mentioned with other live action movies like Ant-Man, the characters would seem to lend themselves more to animation. It's interesting that Guardians Of The Galaxy would come up again just as rumors have begun circulating about a Marvel animated movie from Disney. Could the Guardians Of The Galaxy be the first animated Marvel movie from Disney?
