There are those of us who believe Earth Day is one of those always-falls-on-a-Monday affairs, or else this would have gone out yesterday.

Dark Horse Comics announced earlier this week that they would be giving away digital copies of The Massive, the anticipated new series by Brian Wood and Kristian Donaldson, for free in celebration of Earth Day (after all, what better way to go green than to cut down on the mountains of long boxes you’ve got hiding away in some closet or spare room?).

It’s a deal that good for one day only, though, so get it before midnight!

Set in a world where environmentalism has failed and the world has descended into a kind of toxic apocalypse, The Massive tells the story of members of an environmentalist group who are looking for their lost colleagues, as well as answers as to what it was that finally tipped the scales and sent the world spiraling into disaster.

The 14-page story, which is a preview of the larger series set to begin in June and likely the same one handed out to fans at New York Comic Con and published in Dark Horse Presents, is currently available.
