The Dark Knight Rises To Get New Posters

According to a report at Whatculture!, The Dark Knight Rises won't just get a new trailer the week The Avengers hits the theaters--it'll also get a series of new posters. The site claims that, with its biggest competitor for the summer #1 entering theaters and presumably winding down its press campaign, The Dark Knight Rises is ready to amp up its presence, including banners, billboards and probably character posters featuring Batman (Christian Bale), Bane (Tom Hardy) and Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). Comic book movies routinely have more posters than the average film, with character posters for the fans almost a necessity and, often, a number of "collectible" posters such as the ones currently being produced by Mondo for The Avengers. The Whatculture! story cites The Dark Knight as having had "dozens" of poster designs during the widely-discussed viral marketing campaign that amped up to the release of that movie, currently the highest-grossing comic book adaptation of all time. The Dark Knight Rises will crash into theaters on July 20.
