Comic Book Men

Well, this should come as no surprise. Back in March, Comicbook.com reported on how AMC President and CEO Joshua W. Sapan had said that the first season of Comic Book Men had exceeded the network's expectations. Now, AMC has made it official that they are picking up Comic Book Men for a second season. While the first season consisted of six episodes that were each one hour in length, a change is being made for the second season. The second season will have more episodes, but they will be shorter in length. The sixteen episodes of the second season will each be thirty minutes in length. While it wasn't confirmed in the announcement, the sixteen episodes likely indicates that Comic Book Men will follow The Walking Dead season three, which is also set to run for sixteen episodes. It's possible that instead of immediately following The Walking Dead, Comic Book Men might follow Talking Dead, which is a talk show about The Walking Dead. "Pinch my fat ass, 'cause I must be dreaming! A thousand thank you's wouldn't cover the gratitude I'm feeling right now. And as you might imagine, everyone at SModcast Pictures is in love with everyone at AMC today! Rest assured, Walt, Bry, Mike, Ming and I are suited up and ready to hit the ice for our second season with Team AMC," said Kevin Smith. "AMC set out to build shows around authentic characters and original worlds, and Comic Book Men really delivers on both of these. Charlie Corwin and Kevin have created a truly unique show that is funny and informative -- whether you like comic books or not; and the guys from The Stash are the kind of real life experts we always wanted to build the show around," said Joel Stillerman, who is AMC's EVP of original programming, production and digital content. Comic Book Men is executive produced by Kevin Smith, Charlie Corwin's Original Media and Elyse Seiden. Comic Book Men follows the antics of the staff of Kevin Smith's New Jersey comic shop, Jay and Silent Bob's Secret Stash.
