Looks like they're going to have to make room on that snazzy new movie poster for at least one more big name. The Hollywood Reporter says that Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins is in negotiations to star in RED 2, the upcoming comic book spinoff from Summit Entertainment starring Bruce Willis and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Hopkins has a long working relationship with RED co-star Helen Mirren. The pair have worked together on a number of projects and are currently shooting Hitchcock together, with Hopkins in the title role. According to the report, Hopkins will play "a genius scientist who was locked up in an insane asylum," which in the context of the first film could place him as a lead (see what they did with John Malkovich) or a minor player with key importance to the plot (like Richard Dreyfuss). Hopkins will join newcomers Zeta-Jones and Byung-Hun Lee, while previous stars Morgan Freeman and Karl Urban do not appear to be returning, with Urban spending much of the summer promoting his next comic book adaptation, Dredd.
