A trio of new fan-made posters have been spotted by MTV's Splash Page for The Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan's upcoming Batman film due in July. Mirroring the three posters earlier in the month that showed off Batman, Bane and Catwoman, these three focus on Commissioner Gordon, Deputy Commisioner Foley and Alfred Pennyworth, showing them in the same rain-soaked black and white as the other stars were in. Notable in these one-sheets is that James Gordon is not in his uniform, while Foley is in full regalia. While they may not be official studio products, the mere existence of such images makes us wonder: Will Gordon the "war hero" be forced into retirement, making way for Modine's Foley to step into his old job? Trailers have hinted that might be the case but this is the first real look we get at a very casual Gordon. The film seems to be based at least in part in the No Man's Land story, in which Gordon and his police force went to war with Gotham's criminal element, in spite of the dissolution of city government meaning that they had no actual authority to do so. Could this be a more grounded way of putting the Gordon/Bane war into sharp relief? Check out the posters below; The Dark Knight Rises will be in theaters on July 20.
