In advance of the Las Vegas Licensing Expo, happening next Tuesday through Thursday, entertainment companies have been prepping and previewing some of their products and properties all week long. While it's no surprise that Warner Bros is bringing out Man of Steel, with the movie coming out next year and a need to start moving t-shirts and toys soon, that doesn't mean DC Entertainment doesn't have any surprises up their sleeves. The Adam West Batman TV series, one of the most recognizable iterations of any superhero ever, has long been a thorn in Warner's side, as the TV and licensing rights were tied up between themselves and Fox, with neither studio willing to work with the other on thngs like home video and merchandising releases. Well, apparently the two have quietly come to some kind of accord, because Variety is reporting that fans will enjoy a mountain of new licensed product coming out of the property in the year to come.

"For the first time in over 40 years we will be able to offer fans a full merchandise program that captures the classic, kitschy look and feel of the original Batman TV show," announced Brad Globe, Warner Bros. president of Consumer Products. "This new licensing program allows our partners to take advantage of the characters, gadgets and humor that made the show a smash hit in its day and a perennial favorite decades later." Variety reports that other properties being aggressively marketed by Warner at the show next week include Warner Bros. also will promote the next two Hobbit films, The Looney Tunes Show, The Wizard of Oz, Scooby-Doo and ThunderCats. With a little luck, fans will also get a firsthand look at that coveted Watchmen toaster.
