Denver Broncos The Dark Knight Rises shooting victims

When the Denver Broncos take the field on Sunday night to play the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Broncos players will have a new decal on their helmets. The state of Colorado suffered through several tragedies in 2012, including a shooting during The Dark Knight Rises at an Aurora theater and multiple wildfires. In order to honor the victims of the Colorado tragedies, the Denver Broncos will wear a special helmet decal for throughout the 2012 season. The decal is a ribbon featuring the state flag of Colorado. Denver Broncos linebacker Von Miller blogged, "We had a lot of stuff happen around Denver in the last year and we just want to bring some happiness and joy — and hopefully some wins — back to Colorado this season." While the tragic shooting took place in a Colorado theater during The Dark Knight Rises, the Pittsburgh Steelers have their own connection to the movie. Several players from the Pittsburgh Steelers actually appeared in The Dark Knight Rises as members of the Gotham Rogues football team.
