While virtually every top director has been rumored to be attached to Star Wars Episode VII over the last couple weeks, Ben Affleck's name surprisingly has not surfaced. Perhaps, all the Ben Affleck rumors got used up when Variety reported Ben Affleck was in the running to direct Justice League, which he later denied. But just in case, Ben Affleck isn't waiting for the Star Wars Episode VII rumors to surface, and he has joined the growing number of directors to deny involvement in the project. When asked about Star Wars by MTV, Affleck said, "I'd be too busy worrying about how the action figures would look for each character to direct the actual movie. I'd be like, 'Oh, we'll just reshoot the movie with the action figures.'" Even though Ben Affleck was obviously joking, we wouldn't have been surprised to see the headline, "Ben Affleck to shoot Star Wars with all action figure cast," except the director went on to clarify. When asked about J.J. Abrams directing Star War, Ben Affleck claimed he would crush it. Affleck also added, "I don't know, I'm glad I don't have that job. It's a tough decision to make." So Ben Affleck definitely isn't directing Star Wars, and he's glad about it.
