The Bat In The Dark Knight RisesThere’s a great documentary on the Batmobile through the years appearing on the Blu-ray release of The Dark Knight Rises — and now, thanks to a follow-up interview with one of the movie’s production staffers, we know that the Bat, the airborne Bat-vehicle used in the third and final film in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, could have been a watercraft instead.

“I was heavily pushing for a Batboat,” effects man Chris Corboud told Digital Spy. “I love working on water and thought it would have been a great Bat-vehicle. Chris felt that it wasn’t big enough for the last in his trilogy so he went for [The Bat instead].”

Check out part of the documentary below. The Dark Knight Rises will be on video December 4.
