After Red State, Kevin Smith had announced that he would be retiring from writing/directing movies after his next picture, which was planned to be an ice hockey movie called Hit Somebody. Now, Kevin Smith has revealed via Twitter that Hit Somebody will actually be a six part television mini-series instead. So, since Hit Somebody is going the TV route that left an opening for Kevin Smith to do something as his final movie. Smith tweeted, "Since HIT SOMEBODY is now gonna be a mini-series, yes - that leaves room for a new final flick before I retire from directing feature films." And what will that final movie be? Smith tweeted, "So with the HIT SOMEBODY shift, the minute Jeff Anderson signs on, my last cinematic effort as a writer/director will be CLERKS III. #TaDa"
