One of the biggest trailer releases this week so far has been Pacific Rim, which has generated nearly as much buzz as Man of Steel and Star Trek Into Darkness, leaving G.I. Joe: Retaliation and The Lone Ranger in the dust.
The director of the film, Guillermo del Toro, is one of those people in Hollywood who always seems to be juggling three projects at a time, but who takes time out from each of them to really connect with fans, endearing him to many and keeping him perpetually in-demand, especially for established properties where fan input is a must.
It’s not surprising, then, that he took some time out to talk Pacific Rim with MTV News. What’s a little more surprising is that he did it in the format of a running director’s commentary on the trailer. Check it out below, and stay tuned for more Pacific Rim news tomorrow.
