During an interview in support of his new Nova comic book series, Marvel Television chief Jeph Loeb confirmed what almost everyone was already expecting--that Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. is aiming for a debut next fall as part of ABC's Fall 2013 lineup. "We have a little pilot for television that you might have heard about called Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D.," Leob joked with PreviewsWorld, adding that the show is "co-written, directed, and Executive Produced by none other than Joss Whedon! Working with Joss, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell on the show is a blast! And bringing in Clark Gregg to play Agent Phil Coulson — the best! Hopefully we will be on in the Fall of 2013 on ABC!" Earlier today, MTV News reported that Samuel L. Jackson was hoping for his version of Nick Fury to have a small role on the series, although nobody has yet approached him about the series. E.R.'s Ming-Na Wen and Army Wives's Brett Dalton have already been cast. Clark Gregg, who appeared as Agent Phil Coulson in the Iron Man and Thor films as well as Marvel's The Avengers, will reprise that role and head up the cast.
