Robert Downey Jr. Wins Favorite Movie Superhero People's Choice Award

With the recent success of comic book movies at the box office, superheroes have had their own category at the People's Choice Awards since 2012. Last year, Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern was the surprise Favorite Movie Superhero winner, beating out fellow nominees: Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, James McAvoy as Professor X, and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique. For the 2013 People's Choice Awards, nominees in the Favorite Movie Superhero category included Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Christian Bale as Batman, and Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man. The winner for 2013 People's Choice Awards Favorite Movie Superhero was Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man.
