Following news earlier today that simply reiterated a lot of what was already known about The CW Network's Amazon, network head Mark Pedowitz said in a Television Critics Association interview earlier today that the show has been vetted by Warner's theatrical arm to ensure that it isn't stepping on any toes, particularly those of the filmmakers behind Man of Steel and Justice League. "We worked carefully with Warner Bros. to make sure Warner Bros. theatrical was onboard so we were able to get it done. You want to work carefully with your studio to make sure that it works and that it doesn't interfere with their projects," IGN quotes Pedowitz as saying. He added that with regards to the network's existing hit Arrow, following the adventures of DC Entertainment's Green Arrow, "I think they all could exist in the same world, but whether they do or they don't is depending on what the showrunner wants to do." "Arrow's success, when you have Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim and Andrew Kreisberg as your showrunners, that has a lot to do with that success and we hope Allan Heinberg will have the same success with what Amazon will be," Pedowitz said. "But it does help, in terms of that. In terms of other DC characters, we will explore other DC characters, but we also do a lot of exploration of a lot of other material with a lot of other great producers." The series is, of course, in the earliest stages of development, with no final script yet and the studio still looking for an actor to cast as Diana, according to comments made by Pedowitz earlier in the day.
