Remember how Spider-Man 3 suffered from having too many villains? Well, don’t look now, but rumors are starting to circulate that the reboot sequel Amazing Spider-Man 2 could also have multiple villains. It’s already been confirmed that Jamie Foxx will play the villain Electro in the movie, and now it’s starting to look like Dane DeHaan could play the Green Goblin.
At the world premiere of the movie “Kill Your Darlings,” HitFix reports that director John Krokidas introduced Dane DeHaan by saying “He’s the Green Goblin.” As far as DeHaan himself, he was rather tightlipped about the script, but he did seem to confirm that his character Harry Osborn would be involved in a love triangle.
However, before fans get to worried that Amazing Spider-Man 2 is going down the same path as Spider-Man 3, it should be pointed out that maybe the groundwork is just being laid to introduce Green Goblin in Amazing Spider-Man 3. An interesting scenario might be Electro as the chief villain with Harry Osborn emerging as the Green Goblin in the after the credits scene.
