Skybound founder Robert Kirkman, writer of The Walking Dead, Thief of Thieves and Super Dinosaur, will appear at Earth-2 Comics in Sherman Oaks, California, next month with his Invincible collaborator Ryan Ottley to sign copies of their upcoming Invincible #100, the culmination of "The Death of Everyone." The release of the series' 100th issue will be celebrated with a party and signing on Saturday, February 2 from noon until 3:00 p.m. The issue itself will be released on January 30. "Invincible does, to a certain extent, tell stories that can be somewhat meta," Kirkman told ComicBook.com at New York Comic Con in October. "It's a very compelling story that we've been building to for years but at the same time, it's like, 'It's the death of everyone! They kill one character, we kill all the characters!' I like having fun with that stuff." He added, "Invincible is a superhero comic that, to a certain extent, is competing with those big superhero comics–and so I like to acknowledge that and find ways. So yeah, it's definitely poking fun of that to a certain extent but at the same time it is upping the ante, it is the natural evolution of the kind of stories we've been telling inInvincible and it is a very important character story that deals with who Mark Grayson is and what he's learned over time and what kind of person he's going to be from here on out. And so it all has a basis in character which is important." "This is an exciting event because Invincible started at the same time Earth-2 opened 10 years ago," said Carr D'Angelo, founder and owner of Earth-2 Comics. "It was a comic we were in love with from the beginning and hand-selling to everyone who walked in. It's an honor to celebrate this occasion with Robert and Ryan."
